“After so many years of seeing Unicorns turned into raspberry scented, pudgy toys with braidable hair, it was exhilarating to see unicorns treated as creatures of majesty, might, and yes, terror!  I enjoyed the Washington setting, and the interaction of the girls in the story.  There are far too many tales where a girl is made special because the cool boy chooses her; this is a tale about a girl who regains her sense of being a worthwhile person by her own actions and growth. We need more books like this for girls.”

Wow I really loved this book! I stayed up one night really late to finish it cause it was amazing! But, I think soon there should be possibly a second book. It should maybe be something about Ben disappearing and Twig needing to find him, and Twig should fall in love with Ben. That’s the one thing I didn’t like in the first book. It seemed like Twig and Ben should have fallen in love!!

Hi, Tanisha! I’m so glad you enjoyed Wonder Light, and I really appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment. The sequel to Wonder Light is called the Unicorn Thief, and it’s coming out next May. There’s no love story, though. My vision for Twig and Ben is more of a brother/ sister friendship. If you’re looking for a good love story, you can try my book, Venture Untamed. It’s the first in a series for 13 and up. 🙂

This is one of the best books ever hands down! I loved it once the second book comes out i want to be first in line to get one. Also think you could give me a inside look at the second book just to see what it will be about. Thank you.

Thank you, Kayle! The sequel to Wonder Light is called The Unicorn Thief, and it comes out in May 2014. In The Unicorn Thief, you’ll get to find out more about Ben and about Terracornus. One of the island’s unicorns disappears, and Twig and Ben track him through the passage and end up in the middle of a conflict that could mean war and the end of all unicorns.

Edited to add: The pre-order page on Amazon just went up! Here’s The Unicorn Thief: Unicorns of the Mist!

My 9 year old daughter read me this book aloud every night. She was in total fascination of the descriptions that the author used to paint a picture of Twig, Ben and the Unicorns. It was the best book that she has ever read. She fought me every night when she had to stop reading and wait until the next night. It was always the best part…. Excellent writing and vocabulary, my daughter learned 50 new vocabulary words while reading this book. Thank you for pushing young readers to the next level with your story. She can not wait until May 2014.
